Lasers: The Future of Anti-Aging Skincare

Historically, topical creams have been the go-to solution for wrinkles, fine lines, and other signs of aging. Recent advancements in technology, however, have allowed lasers to replace topical creams, and they are quickly becoming the best way to get smooth, glowing skin as you age.

If you’ve ever grabbed a skincare magazine, you’ve probably noticed that there’s another cream or serum for every issue: sunspots, dryness, wrinkles, dark circles, acne… the list goes on and on. Understanding which products are needed to which issues can be overwhelming.

This isn’t to say that products don’t have their place in skincare routines, but what if you had a simpler, more effective solution?

How do Lasers for Anti-Aging Work?

Lasers for anti-aging can tackle many of the most common skin issues to give a more youthful glow.

Lasers controlled by highly trained professionals are used to essentially vaporize the outer skin layers. The process permanently removes blemishes and encourages new cell growth. As a result, patients typically see smoother, more youthful skin in just a few days.

There is another process that uses heat to stimulate the skin cells instead of removing the outer layer completely. This process still works by stimulating the skin cells and effectively thickening natural collagen. This creates higher skin elasticity and improves overall skin tone. As a result, patients typically notice that their face looks plumper, refreshed, and glowy.

Laser skin treatments can be applied to the entire face or just in specific “problem areas,” such as the areas around the eyes, mouth, and forehead.

Patients may receive a topical anesthetic to help with the pain of the procedure. Once the procedure is complete, their skin is treated with a topical solution for protection, and patients are sent home with aftercare instructions for optimal results.
